Sarah Raven's new catalogue

Sarah Ravens catalogue dropped on my door mat this morning.
She is definitely a girl after my own heart, Ok granted with lots more money then me.
I love the scene above, I want one of those little hut's, I love the colour.
Look here is Sarah modeling her new cooker, haha love it, back to the good old ways.
Oh ok, well maybe she does have one of these babys tucked up nicely in her kitchen.
God I want that too...

Now I liked the look of this deck chair, then spotted the price, Wait for it ....£125.00 each, cor blimey missus!
So you know what I am on the look out for now? Yes a couple of old deck chairs and some nice fabric, with a lick of paint I reckon I could recreate that for a lot less.
Did you spot the funny metal thing next to the deckchair, well I was lucky enough to get one of those for my birthday last year.
It's called a kelly or Storm kettle, you pop bits of twigs and things in to the bottom, then fill up the container with water, then light it up and hey presto, not only do you create fire, but boiling hot water for a nice cuppa on the go, Fab!
Today was the first time I have used mine this year, I tend to live in the garden from now till , well when I start to freeze to death.

The table was made by my Dad, bless him he's a good old boy.
Right off to start a fire, dying for a brew...Em xx

  1. Lovely post Em, I would love that hut and funny enough I did manage to find two deckchairs the other day, although now I need to find some suitable fabric. Love the idea of the Storm kettle, I will have to look out for one of those. Your Dad's table is lovely! Where would we be without Dad's!

  3. Hi Emma,

I did not know Sarah Craven had a webshop. I only know her as a gardener. The catalogue looks very pretty. So does the table made by your dad!

    Lieve groet, Madelief

  10. I shall have to order a catologue for myself. You're bound to get a deck chair on a car boot sale, I have an old child's one and don't know whether to paint it up or leave it "old", Lucey xx

  12. Hi Em
You were right about those deckchairs, I found 3 two with canopies! at a car boot for about £4 each and have recovered them. I did them striped but now I think I will go for the floral look. They are brilliant and so well made. Love the storm kettle, never seen one before.

  13. This did make me smile as my Sarah Raven catalogue dropped through the door this morning too and I spent a very happy 10 minutes dreaming of owning such lovely flowers and things. I even caught myself turning the pages wondering if she was actually selling the hut, which I too wanted very badly! I may treat myself to the french coloured napkins as I've wanted those for three years and do have a birthday coming up, and a tremendously extravagant tomato leaf soap as well as it just sounds so unusual, P&P is free if you spend over £30 did you see? But we'll see if common sense and thrift prevails in the end - lovely to look at though. The colours she uses continually inspire my gardening and sometimes my felt as well! Hope you find your deck chairs.xx

  14. That kelly is wonderful, I would like one! I love the table your Dad made it is great! I too would love to have that hut in mygarden and those deck chairs too, but not with that price tag! Do you know, I have longed for an aga, or a rayburn, stanley, or any other cast iron stove for so long, because in my opinion they cook food so tastily. Recently though, I have been considering the running cost. Crikey! I read the bumph! Oy my gawd... so now I would just like a range! Anything would be better than the one fan oven (with the grill in it) that we inherited with the house! I left a range behind, boo hoo! Still in time maybe hey?! Thanks for your lovely comment over at my place, yes, I am lucky to have my own George! have a lovely weekend! suzie xxx

  17. How much!!! Good grief that's expensive. I had a deckchair but had to chuck it as it was rotten after getting dripped on all winter in the usless leaking garage :(
Loving that wee storm kettle, think that might be a idea for our planned summer walks.

  18. I like dad's table too ! When we moved into the first house we bought, we found a rusty old pot bellied stove in the hedge - it looked realy old but I late foun it was a BQ& modern but anyway it was dirty & rusty so we let the kid light fires . They put a pot of water on to heat uo then filled it with fragrant leaves like rosemary / lavender and make their " Potion " I used to love these balm summer evenings with them making thei pition. The smell used to clear my hayfever !

  19. Hi Em, I swear by Sarah Raven`s Garden Cookbook - it goes through all the seasons with recipes on what to cook whatever`s ready in your fruit and veg plot at the time - I learned to make redcurrant jelly from it last year and it was yummy! Highly recommend it. There`s a spotty Aga just come on to the market - I think it`s either Cath Kidston or Emma Bridgewater - and it`s only £9,999! You get a lot of spots for your money though! Clever Dad making you such a lovely table.

ps- I did re-cover a deckchair last month- unfortunately I got the "fold-up" the wrong way round, so you can't open it at all!!
