I wanted to keep it.

Look what I found in Sid's mouth!
Poor thing.

I have three cat's, one is called Salem, he is an nice old boy and is the boss, then there is Freya and Sidney, both are from ferrel backgrounds and are little terrors, they regularly bring me gifts, like frogs, worms, birds and now a baby bunny.
I actually think Sid has fallen out with me for rescuing it.
Luckily for the bunny it got a way with just slobber marks, and has now gone back to the little wood where it belongs, although it was rather sweet and I did want to keep it..x

  5. My cat is now three legged and fairly old but in his younger 4-legged days we had several rabbits and one quite sizeable - so cute (the rabbits not the cat. We used to get quite an array of gifts including pairs of pants, tights, socks, squirrels, dusters and cigarette ends!!!

  9. It's very impressive that your puss-cat brought a bunny as a gift for you, but I'm very glad you managed to rescue it, and that it only had slobber marks! Em xxx

  10. Well rescued! Newton was a terrible hunter and I fear Archie may be the same. Newton would bring live birds in in the summer when the door was open, and frogs, and baby rats (all of those were dead thankfully). His greatest prize was a large goldfish from next door's pond - he'd spent a whole week fishing for it, we could tell as he had one dirty green arm the whole time. I was very sorry and put the fish in a bucket but it didn't make it. (Newton also used to go into next door's house through their cat-flap and eat their nice gentle cat's food.) I'm sorry you couldn't keep the bunny as it does look so sweet! xx

  14. Cats do like to surprise us don't they! That cute bunny was luck you were around at the right time.

My worst nightmare is when mine decide to bring birds in and I wake up being dive bombed by a scared for it's life birdie!

We still love em to bits though don't we :o) xx

  18. Oh, so cute! Thankfully the only thing my cat has ever brought back from a hunting trip is earthworms! It sounds implausible, but when she was younger she was always bringing them in and leaving them on the bedroom floor for me! Beats mice though...

Thomas my cat - gave Autumn my dog ... well, I didn't know this until she couldn't breathe and I thought she was going to throw up on my bed - I took her to the toilet - held her over it - realized something was caught in he throat - shook her 3 times and out popped a dead mole. 24. reading all about this and the comments leaves me dreading what is ahead.. having two year old kits who are outdoors a bit (with supervision on account of the busy road), but still stalking baby birdies etc... what will I have to face. Nature I know, but... Helen

  25. what a dear little wild rabbit - luckily my lot have not presented me with any though Billy is turning into a good ratter. One of our cats when we were growing up brought in loads of baby rabbits who sadly didn't survive the shock so you did well to rescue that one.
